The EXIR 4th reunion was held on April 27, 2002 in Los Angeles. A large number attended this event, including those who had flown in from far away places.

The gathering was very warm and pleasant one. Like always our friends were extremely pleased to get together and spend, although short, but a very good and most enjoyable hours with each other. The event started with a dinner party by Ali and Mary Boubari on Friday, April 26th.

The following day after noon we had a meeting which was followed by the group dinner at Olympic Collection. On Sunday Abbas and Mrs. Mirrashidi invited a number of friends who had come from outside Los Angeles for a barbecue party at their house. See the pictures at the "Photo Album" page of this Website.

With thanks to Darab Chehrazi and Siroos Khoshbin for arranging the event.

Thanks to Guiv Vaziri and George Mahintorabi for the valuable old pictures they presented for publishing. Thanks to Fereydoon Behbahani and Ahmad Jali for sending the copies of pictures they had taken from the reunion. Our next reunion will be held in April 2004.

So far we have received the following comments from two EXIR friends:

Daryoush Maleki:

I have many times explained to those friends, who from time to time laugh at me, for traveling such a distance for just a couple of days, that those couple of days give me the food for thought for a long time ahead, it enhances my quality of life as such which I can not compare it with any other adventure in my routine life.

Amir Kasravi:

My trip to LA and revisiting the old Iran Air friends (pilots were absent) have reflected in my concept of friendship.

When people at the gathering were hugging and kissing each other so sincerely, it had puzzled me for awhile that where are this longing roots nourishing from? Soon it appeared to me that I was revisiting part of myself in them. Their presence reminded "me" at the time that for what ever reason I mingled with them, there was a sense of unity and oneness that was lingering in the hall and I enjoyed it.
